1.Coated Synthetic Paper:


1-1. Quality printing and quick drying speed can be achieved with coated synthetic paper when it is used for commercial lithography. However, since synthetic paper is made of PP, it will have a scraggy deformation 2 -3 days after the printing due to the effect of the solvent in the ink. (The level of the deformation decreases along with the increase of the paper thickness.) Instead of non-skinning ink, It is recommended to use skinning ink or inks exclusive synthetic paper for the printing on synthetic paper. Same as the printing on art paper, you may also select inks with the features of wear resistance, scratch resistance or high gloss. If the ink with high viscosity is selected, you may add viscosity reducing agent in the ink appropriately to meet your demand.


1-2.Inks exclusive for synthetic paper:   Quality printing and stability of paper can be achieved for synthetic paper with different thickness levels by using inks exclusive for synthetic paper. you may also mix the selected ink exclusive for synthetic with skinning ink in an appropriate proportion to meet your demand. In this case, the proportion of the ink exclusive for synthetic paper shail not be less than 60%. 1-3.Recommended inks: 

1-4.Lithography appliedfor two-sided printing:

When the ink for ordinary printing is used, the reverse side shall be printed within 24 hours and right after the ink dries, so that the layout will not biased due to the scraggy deformation of the paper

1-5.Suggestions for the application of dampening water:

The demand for dampening water to be applied to lithographic printing press for synthetic paper is less than the demand in the printing on art paper by about 10-15%.False drying and ink emulsification may be caused when too much moistening water is used. The content of IPA in dampening water shall not be less than 13%.The higher the PH value of dampening water is, the better the ink dryness will be. (A PH value between 6.0-6.5 is recommended.)


1-6.Suggestions for anti-setoff and stacks:

Design the layout based on the color separation of Integrated Color Removal (I.C.R) to reduce the ink consumption and avoid setoff. If a great deal of ink is used for the printing of patterns, you may need to add an appropriate volume of drying agent. It is recommended to consider carefully the patterns of the presswork to be printed at the initial stage of the PEPA application and determine the stacks of synthetic paper on this basis.


1-7. Suggestions for paper feeding:

PEPA shows a good performance in anti-static electricity. Therefore, if the paper feeding is not smooth, check your processing conditions and the problem will be solved immediately after appropriate conditioning. The suction of the sucker and the pressure of the guide pulley shall be reduced to prevent from damaging the surface of the paper and affecting the printing quality.If a static electricity removing device is installed on your machine, it is recommended to turn it on when you print. The blowing air for the printing press may be increased, if necessary, to prevent from paper jam caused by incomplete separation of paper.



1-8. Humidity of the printing house: The humidity of the printing house shall be more than 50%.Static electricity may be produced if the humidity is too low.

1-9.Powder spraying:

Appropriate powder spraying can prevent from setoff. But the powder shall not be sprayed too much; otherwise, the color brilliance of the presswork may be affected.



A. Don't move the printed paper before the ink dries to avoid setoff.

B. The stacks of the presswork shall be controlled appropriately. Setoff may be caused and the ink may dry slowly if too much presswork is stacked.

C. The printing press and the environment around it shall be cleaned thoroughly. The attachment of dust may affect the printing quality.


  2.Non-coated synthetic paper:  


Because the non-coated synthetic paper has a non-absorbing paper surface, refer to the followinq rules for lithography for better printing quality:


2-1.Ink application:


(1) Better ink dryness: Print with inks exclusive for synthetic paper.
(2) Ordinary skinning ink may also be used for printing.

 2-2. Printing conditions:


 (A).The higher the PH value of dampening water is, the better the ink dryness will be. (A PH   value  between 6.0 -6.5 is recommended.)



(B).Dampening water volume:

The dampening water shall be applied no more, than the volume at which the layout does not become dry. Uneven printing of color blocks may be caused if too much dampening water is applied.

(C).Special suggestions for blue color blocks or primer patterns:

 Because the blue ink has its special nature, print the blue color with the first printing seat so that the even printing of the blue color won't be affected by the water accumulated on the paper.
 (D).Special attention shall be paid to the stacks to avoid setoff and slow drying of the presswork.
